"____________!"

This is one side of a snowfort/snowball fight and the other side had apparently just run out of snowballs. We all know what goes in the blank. "Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?"

Paying a Debt

I owe another photographer friend a photo of an old barn. He knows why and is gloating about it, as well he should. Posted by Picasa

Moody Monday: Weak

Weak Winter Sunlight.

I didn't see it was given as the example for Definition 10: Lacking potency or intensity: weak sunlight until after I posted.

Now respectfully resubmitted under Definition 7: Lacking or resulting from a lack of intelligence.

Who Is Your Flashbulb Daddy Now?

Not as dramatic but actually harder than THIS SHOT.

I was at my nephew's basketball game and TRYING to take some photos but I find indoor sports activities to be a NIGHTMARE because I don't have a sweeeeeeeet flash unit. So I'll take HUNDREDS end end up with 2 or 3 blurry 'sports art' photos. Heh heh.

Anyway, I noticed Mr Sweet Flash Unit on the other side of the gym and thought I'd try to capture his flash. Now *YOU* guys try it. Post your results.

Chingis (Genghis) Reposted from 6.13.05

After conquering most of the known World, a weary Chingis, the Greatest of the Khans, returned to Mongolia and planted a stone in the road with the inscription "I turn to simplicity. I turn again to purity."

Lensday.com: Junk

I found this part of a train coupling in an abandoned Railroad Diesel Shop and thought it would make a cool doorstop until I tried to lift it.

Does This Scaffolding Make My Castle Look Fat?

As Frequent Gentle Viewers know, I live high on a hill renting the main tower of a castle which overlooks the village and peasants below because it's easier to defend with big axes and maybe rocks (thanks steph!). I usually only take photos FROM it. But for this shot I disguised myself as a commoner and made my way to the far side of the village to get a long shot OF it.

Why, YES, I DID!

At dinner tonight with my friend Jenny Rainmaker, I was telling her how I was still taking lots of photos but nothing to put on the blog. I've been taking photos of things in the city either slated for destruction, under contruction or just some 'archive' shots for when someplace or other burns down. They are my favorite sorts of photos actually, because, inevitably, 'that change, she do occur.' So she's eating and CLEARLY bored or not matching my enthusiasm, when she brightens and says "Did you get a photo of that bizarre snowman in front of the Thai Place that was up all fall?" USCGC Tackle

The Tackle and USCGC Bridle (Out of the frame) were breaking ice on the Penobscot River. It SEEMS early for this but they said the ice was 18 inches thick.

Going Once, Going TWICE!

So I'm at Chesley's Auction Gallery years ago and enjoying a rousing evening of competetive shopping, homemade pie, and steamed hotdogs with my wife of the moment and generally not paying enough attention because when I see THIS my hand shoots HIGH INTO the air, above the masses not worthy enough to own this little sign and I JUST hear Roger Chesley say "Who'll give me One Hundred Fifty for this sign?"

I look up at my IDIOT hand and can NOT pull it down fast enough. It's hanging up there like a balloon. You can practically see my wrist getting longer as I'm forcing my arm down but my hand stays up. I'm about to use my OTHER hand when Roger turns and sees me which earns 2 raised eyebrows from him. I finally get it down and he waits, then asks 'You ok?' earning a chuckle from the unworthy masses.
I ended up with the sign for 10 bucks. Posted for Thursday Challenge: Signs

Calf and a Half Outtake for HNT

Posted ONLY so that I will have something to post for the Best of HNT 2006. This is one of several attempts. You can sort of crop it in your mind and see how I ended up with that other shot.

Os listed this again since we got cut off last week, I think so I'll move it back to the top. Thanks Os!

Chelsea Turner

It has Unlimited Local Minutes. A 12 foot range. But it doesn't take photos or surf the web. The contact list is the book it sits on, but the reception is great. Always 5 bars!

MacroDay: Cheesey

Mmmm..cheese.

*wink wink nudge nudge*

(OH C'MON, serious MacroDay Gentle Participants! It's a LITTLE funny!)

Given THIS.

AND, it makes it cheesey in the literal AND colloquial meanings of the phrase. I think we have a winner here. Yep. I do. Heh heh.
