Again, reminds me of a long time ago. 7th grade and everyone made fun of the kids who didn't have the Con's. Parents loaded me up, drove to the next town, shelled out $10 and I was again part of the crowd.
I had a pair of some Kresge brand imitation rip off Converse that were LITERALLY torn apart one day in the coatroom. I think they were called Grippers or something. After that I got a pair of Lou Brocks. They were Converse but I was assured that Lou Brocks were NOT as cool as All Stars. Who knew?
Today the Converse still attracks looks and comments. Usually, "Are those still causing extreme achilles tendon/heel pain but you are still wearing them anyway because you haven't gotten over your childhood sneaker issues?"
That would be a 'yes' to both counts.
I sneak in a Canvas Sperry Topsider in every now and then for variety.
I was thinking "muddy" might be a good theme for photo Friday. Being Spring and all. I think of the herd's exit from the barn at my uncle's dairy farm. A hemisphere of vile muck a foot deep. How might that photograph?
