Christmas 1958

Take some very patient and tolerant friends, an independently wealthy child, an uncontainable dog, a white Christmas tree...

And I'd say you damned near have it all.

  1. I have the exact same chair...except mine is light blue. I WISH I had the white Christmas tree. Cool pic...patient ex wife and MORE patient new husband!

  2. Great set of photos, (that fellow has a boo-boo on his thumb.) After our lights went out, I wanted a new white tree but I got vetoed.

  3. It captures the very essence of 1958; the Scandinavian furniture, the geo carpet, the white tree, a boy and his dog, I can just see the new '59 Ford in the driveway! But, isn't that boy's hair a little long for '58?

  4. Love this. I want to live in that world... but I would prefer a brilliant turquoise tree with silver baubles.

  5. Excellent photos, JK. Very good recreation of my early childhood environment. My parents had a lamp very like that one.

But let's not forget there was no cable, no computers, no cell phones, no DVDs, no iPods and no digital cameras and everyone smoked cigarettes EVERYWHERE and I have always HATED white Christmas trees.

Other than that, it was great.
