In addition to the butter & salt 'n' pepper, I also add a splash of apple cider vinegar(another Maineiacs Must) You get the best(unless you gather your own) from the old hippie just south of Ellsworth Wal-Mart. Oh, to answer your question--YES!
Dude - This won't surprise you but Barney always made us go fiddle heading in the spring - then out on the front lawn with a huge blanket to clean them. JP is right about the vinegar. Yum!
