Roxy Leigh Penobscot River Cruises on the Bangor Waterfront / American Folk Festival
This boat offers rides up and down the Penobscot River SOMETIMES. I bought a couple of tickets and if they don't have 20 people they don't go. But it's totally cool because they notify you by simply not showing up and having a big padlock on the door. It's completely hit or miss. But I think I know why they have a hard time getting 20 people.
In fact, while I'm trashing a lame cruise ship that doesn't run, allow me to warn Gentle Viewers, who Google this, that you can't walk down there either because the stupid City of Bangor has been tearing up all the sod they put down last year but they have fenced off the entire waterfront effectively making it impossible to use this summer, unless of course, you are the 20 or so people who have boats docked there.
Update for people who are landing on this site using Google and 'Roxy Liegh': The waterfront work is finsihed so you can at least walk around. It's very nice until they tear it up and fence it off again next summer. Enjoy it while you can.

Roxy Leigh - what a great name for a boat.
ReplyDeleteIt could be worse! Not only could they padlock the fence, but they could have put the evil monkey that lives in your closet as a sentry.
ReplyDeleteaughra: second only to the S. S. Minnow.
ReplyDeleteerik: my evil monkey works for NO ONE! He says "Eee ee ee" to you.
