Washington! The Thing of the Moment North American Tour Continues!

A few snaps from my days with the Eisenhower Administration.

I was the (Naked) Secretary of Agriculture ...or (All Nudes) Highways ...or something (Co-Eds). I forget.

The Vegas Strip!

Nothing says 'travel' like Vegas.

Unless, of course, you live there.

Photos retouched and salvaged from a shoot with a 1.3 Megapixel Samsung Digimax 130 (The Holga of Digital Cameras)

And the 60,000th Gentle Viewer IS...

Night Owl CALVIN COLEMAN! I'm glad it was someone was was easy to find and not some anonymous images.google.com user. He wins a print of any photo he likes from The Thing of the Moment. That is, if he WANTS one.

Dear 60,000th Gentle Viewer

According to Sitemeter you will be here today or tomorrow. It's taken you since December 2004 to get here. (Sorry, 50,000th Gentle Viewer, I completely missed you.) I will post your Sitemeter information so you can tell who you are and ummm...I'll have a lovely parting gift for you or something. See you soon.

Bus Movies ROCK!

Sitting on the bus near a sex offender vigilante and getting sprayed when he shoots himself as the bus is boarded by cops? That how you saaaay...not so much rock.

But it's the bus. You take the good with the bad.

(Update) Actually, as I read the article closer (because you can't read it close enough) I see that it's NOT the bus line that offers the movies! Always go with the movies. That's what I do. And so do you.

MY Lunchlady can kick YOUR Lunchlady's ASS!

As many Gentle Viewers know, the day job that I am FREQUENTLY advised not to give up is in a school. This is the man responsible for my 162 dollar lunch tab that I have to get working on.

Mike is former Social Worker from the mean streets of Philadelphia. He packed it all in, moved to Maine with his HOT wife, and is now a champion bass fisherman and THE school cook.

Another in a series of blog-harrassing friends to increase my Gentle Viewership.

Ok, I Lied.

This is REALLY this. I beg your forgiveness. It won't happen again.

(Until next time.)

Laurie Jones at the Dowling Studios and Gallery Opening

My friend, Steve Peer (drumming), let me know of a local art gallery opening and being such a fine supporter of all things 'art' (ok, photo op), I went to lend my support and sneak some photos. Can you take photos in an art studio? Find out more about Laurie Jones and Robert Dowling. Posted by Picasa

A Little Thing I Call....THE SUN!!!!!

Aperture: f/500; Shutter: 1/1,500,000 sec.; focal length: 1,250,000,000 mm.

The quick shutterspeed allowed me to draw out more spots than I had expected but the small arc on my SWEET ASS Telephoto would only allow me to capture a small slice of the sun and I think I shot between the solar flares that I saw before I was blinded.

SafetyPup sez®: Always wear sunglasses when staring directly into the Sun. Posted by Picasa

Cadillac Mountain, Sand Beach, Otter Point

"Sometimes you go to Pxite with the Mountains you have, not with the Mountains you want." - Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld.

Besides, these are the mountains you are left with after 340,000,000 years and multiple periods of intense glaciations.

Note to Pxite: Can we do something about this voting system? Maybe change to a juried system? Or even just display photos here like Thursday Challenge? Although, I clearly don't follow the rules myself, I posted TWO images. Heh heh.
