It looks suspiciously like an egret, but I don't really know anything about these big birds either. Once a friend of mine took me on a wild goose chase (heh) to an egret nesting ground, where he swore there were thousands of them. We drove for like three hours and there ended up being about three egrets there, which we could have easily seen at the lake back home. I was mad. Egrets have been out of favor with me ever since. Nice reflection on this one though... :)
