Don't tell GNBassett about this one.

  1. Great pic! How do you get a decent shot of the moon? I have a Canon S2IS and I cannot seem to get a good shot of the moon. It seems I lose light when I zoom in. Do you use an external flash? If you have an idea for me to get a good shot, please let me know, as I'd much appreciate it. Thanks!

  3. Very nice. How do you get such good moon pics? Mine always turn out as little far-away dots of lite.

  4. Too late, I already saw it. By the way, how did you take this, once again?

  5. owen: I am! Thanks!

merlinpricess: It was a little hard on the Beaver. (Email me for a translation)

wendy: You got the right tool. Zoom zoom zoom and use a tripod and f8 at 1/1600. Although it's set in darkness the moon is amazingly bright. Moon filters cut out 85% of visible light. Your on camera meter will be fooled by the darkness isn't thinking it's dark out. (Stupid camera) External flash? I think there are top secret US Govt Regulation concerning flashes able to light the moon. I got into enough trouble using my laser pointer to illuminate airplane cockpits. (Dear Feds, I'm joking. I don't have one of those kick ass Laser pointers)

rw: I would have used it for Six but I ran out of room.

jmd: You have 2 options. Either get a BIG zoom or get very close to the moon.

    bassett: I AIN'T TELLING! ;)
