After seeing the bird feeder photo, I had to ask. Was that photo and this photo edited? Was a blue filter used? Or were they both 'natural'?
They remind me of the very beautiful blue slate pit photo on your development website, which just has to be natural. Why haven't you ever posted that photo here?
Um...this photo was only cropped because the top of the frame was bright white. Those dark clouds were the edge of a weather front but you can see the white sky reflected in the water (It's not moonlight or filtered direct sunlight)
But the OTHER photo of the bird feeder is the Nikon E4600s cyanotype color setting thing. I've been usig it a lot for the past few days. I've never been a huge fan of the Nikon's wite balancing act but I DO like this setting and it's black and white. But I can always make a better black and white in post production. That hue of blue is hard for me to get for some reason.
And I never posted the slate quarry photo here because I never liked it. It was just a random photo I had posted to The Thing of the Moment XP, Mark IV Developmental blog which was a COMPLETE FAILURE!
I think the slate was...well..slate colored but IS blue in the photo, so I just saw it as not correctly color balanced.
How about "Study in Blue" or "Winter is Coming"?
ReplyDeleteI love this picture so much, I just made it my desktop background.

Oooh, I like the blueness
ReplyDeleteHoly crap. I can't believe I almost missed this. I love it. And I agree with erik..I like the blueness too.
ReplyDeleteIs blue your favorite color? 'Cause you use the color well.
