Two Views of Our Industrial Past

One

Two

I'm just kidding. They are actually just 2 views of the smokestack at the old Waterworks that they want to turn into low income housing that I would pay a LOT of income to live in.

Apple Tree in Alpenglow

You really can never go wrong taking a photo of a tree.

I was stuck in traffic during a paving job.

My camera was out because I wanted photos of the paving equipment.

Relapse

I know I said I was going to ease up on my airplane fetish and post fewer pictures from the approach but I like this one for the technical aspects of...uhh....

the stationary trees...ummm.. well..blurred, while the moving airplane...see how it's...ummm...

And...uh..the autofocus thing? How the trees...which..I mean..you don't have much time....and uh...

Ok, I just LIKE it!

Murder of Crows: Sometimes They Get it Wrong

I've posted a shot like this before and was asked if I would allow it to be used to illustrate a children's reading program. I did it because I am a photo credit whore.

This is a new murder of crows which occured this afternoon. I can't help but going out when I see it. The movies are much more dramatic than one photo. There are 6 or 7 trees in the neighborhood with this many or more and they all fly around from tree to tree and caw.

It is traditionally thought that a murder of crows is a sign of impending doom.

Unfortunately sometimes the crows get it wrong.

Kellie loves Curtis! And Vice Versa, of course.

The Happy Bride (Well, not today and not with this horse)

The Happy Groom

I was humbled with a message I received from two of my favorite fair workers that they were married today.

Congrats to both of them.

Dream of the Blue Lobsters

Yesterday's post of hermit crabs elicited confessions of crustacean phobias from Aughra and Chemical Billy.

I didn't know there was such a thing.

Maybe because I've never had a crustacean crawl on me and stab out my eyes with it's needle-like legs and then crawl into my mouth and lodge in my throat choking off my airway until I died.

Spiders, yes. Never crustaceans.

It has my eyes.

You want some of this? You want what I got? Bring it!

FLEE!

Tired Old Barn

I drive past this on the way to work. It's just a cool falling-in barn and it doesn't speak to any higher truth but it was a nice cloudy fall day and I liked how it looked and, like The Tree, won't be around much longer, so I'm glad I got a picture of it.

And so are you.

Because you are my Gentle Viewers and I love you all. Heh heh.

Guest Photographer: BD

I am humbled again. I couldn't recall where I had taken this photo and then realized it was from a collection that came from a student, to whom I had loaned one of my cameras.
