Moody Monday: Clumsy

An embarrassed colleague came up to me during a field trip to show me this starfish. Kids had been handling it for a while and as soon as she touched it...ploop. We learned later that a starfish will 'throw' a leg when stressed.

Find your bouy, grab the line and run it over the winch...

Winch up the trap from 20 to 80 feet of water.. 

Push the trap back to your sternman who empty and rebaits the trap (pot)... 

Remove any lobster, sex it and size it..then keep it and band it or throw it back... 

Replace the bait bag, feed seagull from the bait bucket... 

Go off to get the next trap. Repeat 300 to 800 times.
