For Gentle Viewers 'From Away', there is no Lucerne, Maine, Lake Lucerne or Lucerne Village as some pretentious local yuppie wanna-bes put it. It's Phillip's Lake in Dedham. ;)
(Man, I am NEVER going to get paid for a photo of the Lucerne Inn NOW!)

The Lucerne Inn
When Bangor Metro Magazine called for a photo of this inn they said they were looking for a photo of it in winter. Next year if they call, I'll be better prepared. (In more ways than one. Heh heh)

Can't you just add snow and hang icicles to the roof (to the old picture) in the same way that you took out the car or moved the Christmas tree? ;)
ReplyDeleteIs there a Dedham, Maine, as well as a Dedham, Mass.?
ReplyDeleteLovely photo, j. Don't forget to add the topiary El Camino.
nml: You think I didn't try that? :)
ReplyDeletewrath: There are dozens. You are right, nothing says Christmas like the topiary El Camino. In fact, El Camino means "The Baby Jesus is born and there's no room at the Lucerne Inn" in Spanish.
Does not!
ReplyDeleteI think you are neve going to be ASKED for another photo of this Lucerne Inn...
ReplyDeletewrath: Well it means SOMETHING!
ReplyDeletemp: Not if I keep this up at any rate.
It is just another way to say I have a'pinto,' therefore, I need this gurt, big car.
ReplyDeletei've often wondered about the name of that lake...we pass it on our drives to ellsworth.
ReplyDeleteThere is always a Lucerne Lake (ok its real name is Phillips) it is the memories of our cottage on that lake that keep me going from Sept thru May when we can go back !
