Chemical Billy

was in Maine recently at an undislcosed location for an indeterminate period and time and graciously agreed to meet her lowly and humble photographic servant under the mistaken impression that it might be fun. And given that I'm lousy and local crafts and baking and never think to purchase small token like gifts and am not Russian enough to hand out bread and salt upon meeting, I asked if I might take her photo. And what sort of portraitist am I?

I AM TOTALLY THE SAY 'CHEESE' KIND!

Billy and her noose. "Cheese!"

"Now show me your inner lion! Rar!, I mean 'Cheese!'"
Billy has eyes! "Cheese!"
Now turn around, show me your cool new tattoo, and say 'Cheese!'

Holgamod Macro

A photo taken of my toothbrush to answer the age old question: 'Can one take macros with a Holgmod?'
(Completely sidestepping the age old questions: 'Should one?' and 'Why on Earth would one?'

(Returning to my photoblogging roots of just posting pretentious and pensive lonely photos with nothing funny to say because I'm so damned serious. Rar!)

People at Work®: The Beekeepers

What is the point in having a car and a window if you can't pull it over and roll it down and say: "Hey, what are you doing? Can I take a picture of it??"

These beekeepers, Jeff and John, 'found' a swarm that had left an earlier hive and were attempting to get it in the new hive...ummm...thing.

As we were discussing a possible upcoming shoot for the People at Work® series where I might actually have some protection from being stung, a call came in and 2 more lost swarms were found.

What unfolded as they allowed me to tag along for the next couple of hours is a Monumental and Majestic Work of Epic Proportion to be posted here and uploaded to a jkirlin flickr set near you.

STAY TUNED!

Aaahh...why make you wait.

The rest of the set can be seen here.

And here is the aforementioned Holga EOS.

The only thing that's missing in the Canon L Series Conversion Kit.

Holga EOS

Fake Holgas? No.

Randy at HolgaMods.com will violently rip the lens off a Holga and attach it to a Body Cap giving DSLR users a change to turn thier expensive DSLRs into Fake Cheap Holgas.

To what end you ask? Well for one thing, I never knew that little bench down the street was a bus stop.

Thanks, Randy!
