The Fair Hasn't Even Started Yet and I May Have My Favorite Photos Already.
That Sigma 10-20 is one beauty of a lens. You can hand hold it in crazy low light and still get decent shots.
By decent I mean National Geographic Quality. ;)
Do you hear me, Amy Toensing? Do ya, Punk?
These People Are a Living, Breathing, Bruce Springsteen Song.
Early Spingsteen, anyway.
Much the same way your lowly and humble photographic servant is a living, breathing, Perry Como song.

Why I Do What I Do When I Do What I Do.
Because *THIS*, Gentle Viewers, is a copy of the Thunder Bolt Tear Down Crew Portrait taken in 2006 and was taped inside the control box. When he saw me, he ran up and took it down to show me that they still had it. THAT is what I'm talking ABOUT.

Boots! The Nation's Oldest Guardian Angel
At 72, Boots is possibly one the fair's oldest employees. He works for the State Fair Cafeteria. There was some trouble in their last spot in Brockton, MA, (stabbings, shootings) and Boots was interviewed by WBZ radio and asked what he thought of the Guardian Angels.
"Never heard of them." he replied.
The next day he was met by several Guardian Angels and Curtis Sliwa and they presented him with a membership and a beret.

Lensbaby: Freshly Painted Lobster Buoys Drying in the Sun
And photographed with the Lensbaby 3G with no aperture disk on it.
It's a wonder I didn't burn out my sensor.

The Thing of the Moment's WTF Is This Quiz.
What am I doing?
a) Thinking up all the brilliantly funny and witty status messages (See facial expression)
b) Sending out yet another round of 2am crazy person emails to various institutions including The White House and The World Court?
c) Watching The Office on DVD because it's all I know how to do.
d) Wondering where the second mouse button is.

Jim Gooch: Blogger, Statesman, TaskMaster.
Gentle Viewer Jim Gooch is also a person that your lowly and humble photographic servent is a lowly and humble photographic servent to. He's with the Trust for Public Land and he's used some of my photos to illustrate materials..umm...booklets and things for them to ...well...use. He showed them to me and I'll show them to you later. It's either the artistic merit he likes or the price. I'm not sure. How MUCH is the price, you ask?? I think you can see here in this sweet kayaking self portrait from earlier this evening.
Jim's blog!

If this keeps up, the answer to the question "Do you mind if I take a picture of your dog." is going to be "Yes."
