That Bridge in Somesville.

This is so sweet and Christmassy that I could just PUKE! Quick, Gentle Viewer, be a lamb and hold back my hair!

Sweet Christ, I once vowed to never photograph this 'the most photographed bridge to nowhere in the World'.

But it was like a CAR ACCIDENT! I was on a mission for Gentle Viewer, Patrick Kaine, and I COULDN'T LOOK AWAY! I HAD to take this photo! But by God on high, YOU are the better for it.

  1. That's soooo strange. I JUST wrapped a Christmas present- a painting of the Somesville bridge- for my MIL. Nice photo. I've never seen an evening shot of it... not even on postcards.

  4. erik: It's a little Dee Snyderish at the moment ala Twisted Sister but I'm getting it cut this afternoon so it'll soon return to it's normally Kennedyesque style. Then I'll be able to hold it back myself.

nml: You *bringlunchmoneyforjkirlin* and *bringlunchmoneyforjkirlin* I *bringlunchmoneyforjkirlin* have a psychic bond.

aughra: I would if not for the possible pine needle and splinter injuries.

pg: funny thing about that. It was actually around 45 degrees and that was a small yet FULL flowing brook. It was quite dark though so after I made a 15 second exposure it smoothed out the water and foam and made it look like a skating surface that you'd get with cold cold temps but no snow.

wrath: Always remember, if you cover your mouth to stop from vomitting ALSO PLUG YOUR NOSE! :)
*Helpful vomitting hints from jkirlin, speech pathologist*

  7. Said bridge had been posted over at my place...

It's a shot I took while riding a unicycle, drinking a cup of coffee, and smoking.

You'll like it, I'm sure. Take a peek.

  8. Did you take this photo before your real car accident? If so, your comment about 'a car accident' might have been prophetic. Maybe God is trying to get your attention and have you realize that the world has twisted Christmas into all sorts of things that is was not meant to be. The important things are to be thankful for what you have, thankful for what God gave to you, to keep bitterness out of your heart when others do you wrong, and to focus on helping others instead of trying to accumulate wealth for yourself. We will have problems in this life. It is how we handle them that shows increase (or decrease) in our maturity.
